Year 1 Pirate Day

On Friday 20th October all Year 1 children dressed up as pirates as a finale to our mini pirate topic. The day started with our special pirate 'wake and shake' dance, followed by lots of pirate craft activities.  I am sure you enjoyed looking at these at home!  During the two week topic the children made pirate ships as part of a scientific investigation on floating and sinking (they sailed the seven seas whilst learning about the continents and oceans of the world).  We learnt about famous pirates and the main features of a pirate ship.
