Year 2 transition to Bispham Drive

Dear Year 2s, Parents and Carers,

Banks Road and Bispham Drive staff work very closely throughout year 2, particularly in the Summer term, to ensure the move from Year 2 to Year 3 is as smooth and supported as possible. While things are a little different this year we still hope to give you as much information as we can. We have created this page on both of our websites to try to answer some of the questions you might have. Over the next few weeks your home learning project will be linked to moving schools and you will have a few jobs to do to help you to learn a little bit more about your new school.

What is it like at Bispham Drive?

Mrs Goetzee has made a video to introduce herself, the Year 3 staff and show you around your new school. Please have a look here https://youtu.be/qDnvBpH0_TI

Parents and carers, you will be able to find out more information on the New Parents’ Information page http://www.bisphamdrive.notts.sch.uk/parents/new-parents-infomation/ and the school website http://www.bisphamdrive.notts.sch.uk/

Year 3

Year 5 Buddies

You will be given a Year 5 buddy to help you settle into your new school. When you start at Bispham Drive these children will be the oldest in the school so we hope by knowing them a little bit already you will feel comfortable and settled quickly. Your teachers know some of the Year 5 children too and have tried to give you a buddy who we think you will work well with.

Your next home learning project will be all about changes, including moving schools, and we will be asking you to write a letter to your buddy. You will have more information about this in your home learning pack (week beginning 8th June) but for now you could begin thinking about what you might want to write in your letter or ask your buddy.

If we are able to come back to school safely before the summer we hope to build on the relationship between you and your buddy but we are not sure if this will be possible yet. As we know this is a really useful relationship to help you settle in your new school the buddy system will be continued into the Autumn term when you are at your new school too.
