Welcome

I am delighted to be able to welcome you to our website. I hope that you find it useful and feel that you can access a great deal of information about us.

We pride ourselves on the wonderful work that's going on in school. We work hard to educate our children to become thinking, confident, responsible and caring citizens who have a healthy respect for others.

All the staff and Governors at Banks Road Infant and Nursery School are strongly committed to developing young children personally and academically in a safe, secure, happy and stimulating environment. We offer children a creative and challenging curriculum which caters for all abilities and interests. We have high expectations for all the children. We aim to nurture them to succeed as individuals and develop them into confident and independent learners. We endeavour to produce lifelong learners who will relish the challenges that our rapidly changing world has to offer now and in the future. There is a strong sense of purpose, energy and drive amongst all members of staff generated by the knowledge that we are in a unique position to make a difference to the lives of the children.

We see our school as a partnership between staff, children and parents and value the contribution our home school relationships have, working together to enable each child to reach their full potential. We are proud of our achievements and have gained the Healthy Schools Award, the UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools Award and Investors in People (Silver accreditation).

Our most recent OFSTED inspections were carried out in June 2018 and May 2019 and you can find these reports on the School Information page on our website.

At Banks Road Nursery we believe it is our responsibility to offer high quality early years education for all children in the year before they start school.  The Nursery can accommodate 26 children.  At Banks Road we are offering 15 hours standard funding for all applications and then offering additional hours up to the 30 hours funding in accordance with our Nursery admissions policy. From September 2017 many working parents are entitled to 30 hours childcare funding for 3 and 4 year olds. Extended hours funding can also be used as payment towards breakfast club, (nursery) lunch club and after school club. Through these and our breakfast and after school clubs, we provide a wrap-around care provision.

Our website offers information about Banks Road Infant and Nursery School but we encourage visits to the school.  I hope you will contact me if you need any further information or if you would like to arrange a visit.

If you require a paper copy of any information from our website please contact the school office and we will provide this free of charge.

Thank you once again for taking the time to visit the school website.
